I loved this movie and Dancer in the Dark too. It's a pity that the director Lars von Trier is awful to work with.

This reminds me a lot of Synecdoche, New York (2008) starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. It also uses theatre and staging in really interesting ways

I remember watching this when I was little. Remember the “dog” being an outline on the floor 😂 the ending always stuck with me.

Nick :
It reminds me of the production of “Streetcar Named Desire,” with Gillian Anderson that they recorded for National Theatre Live. It was a completely wire frame set with minimal furniture that was staged in the round, but it’s easy to get fully immersed into it.
