@samlowcooks: Ep 26 | - Sesame Oil | HOW TO SHOP AT YOUR LOCAL ASIAN GROCER Sesame oil is pretty high on the list when building an Asian pantry. The aromatic, rich and fragrant oil is used mainly as a finishing aromatic oil, in addition to sauces and dips and sometimes dumpling fillings etc. Sesame oil will keep longer (stay more fragrant) in the fridge after opening and often the higher the price the better the quality. A little goes a long way! So use about 1/2 - 1 tsp at a time. 🎥 at Jadan on Dominion Rd, Mt Roskill, Auckland. #sesameoil #howtoshop #asiangrocer #shoppingguide #masterchef #modernchinese #Foodie #recipes
ok I need that no drip spout cause oil bottles always feel oily on the outside no matter how careful you are.

I feel that sesame oil is one of those things it's worth getting a better bottle of. Flavour yes, but also a little goes a long way so the bottle lasts a while.

Ok so my strategy of just picking the prettiest bottle might not be ideal?

Hi Sam, I saw Sichuan Pepper cooking oil at my local Asian market. Do you have any experience with it?

1000% on a little goes a long way 😅 ps (olive oil shop worker here) fresh, unadulterated EVOO doesn’t lose health benefits when heated, you can even deep fry in EVOO!

I find the cheaper stuff tends to be more bitter (sesame oil is delicate to processing temperature as well as how it's used) and it goes rancid faster--gonna try the fridge trick 🤝🙌
