I’ve been told by many parents and college students to do community college to get the core curriculum out of the way for cheap, then transfer after that!

I have 2 in college.. started a 529 when they were babies. In state tuition is 20k a yr in NC Out of state is double. We use 529 and payment plan.

We r in the same boat! So sad! My son is super smart took AP classes too 4.4 gpa, top scholar awards, he got $0,he wants to be a lawyer so going to community college so we can save for law school

Same! We have three incollege this year, FAFSA doesn’t look at how many are in college at the same time, so qualify for nothing. Most scholarships are based on need, FAFSA says we don’t have any need.

Fill out the FASFA - she may still get federal grants. We ended up not claiming our youngest son on our income taxes during his Sr Yr so he was considered on his own

Yes!!! Our story ! GPA… graduated high school with AA … worked … played 2 sports a year … nothing for middle class ! It was upsetting!
