It’s a dsg it will not go in to reverse until it reach’s a safe speed to do so, this is how they actually test dsg boxes at Volkswagen too

The clutch disengages in this situation, that’s why you hear the revs go high. If it actually engaged reverse there would’ve been a lot more noise and movement.

It won’t go to gear just don’t rev It and go back to the normal gear only thing that can happen wrong is to put it in park that can break stuff in the gearbox with running speed

If you’ve got an auto then generally newer cars like 2016 and above will automatically put it into neutral to stop you from damaging the gear box. As you heard the car put itself into neutral

Shifting straight into reverse is possible tho in modern automatic cars not that harmful. Gearbox slows down the engine for it to safely engage the reverse gear. Essentialy its an engine brake 🤷♂️

if you're going over a certain speed it will not physically engage reverse. I did it by accident hahahaha. don't press the accelerator at all so it won't drop the clutch in reverse 🤣🤣

some newer cars have it where if it detect vehicles speed is to high it will ignore the shift and go into neutral
