When my son was 15 he had to mow the lawn weekly. I told him if he'd do it 1x a wk on his own I'd pay him $20 each week. If I reminded him he'd do it for free. I had free lawn service that summer

I was a teenager and trying to get my parents to just agree to a set chore list instead of them yelling at me long lists of stuff they wanted done while I was half asleep or already doing something.

As a parent, my goal is for them to learn how to, clean, cook, iron and fence for themselves, so when I'm gone, they know how to do the lit. things in life, if they get upset, oh well they'll be fine.

Phone calendars with reminders are excellent for this. They should be held accountable to use them so there’s no excuse that they forgot.
