Simple solution, charge a £20 deposit. If you do need to have been at A&E then you get your money back. If you’re there wasting time then you don’t.

The issue is people presenting at A&E with things that could have been dealt with elsewhere. Mostly, patients who should have been seen by GP's, but can't get appointments and their issue worsens.

I worked in a&e for 4 years. I'd say 70% of those folk will be going home with a little boo boo on their poorly that didn't need a&e 😳🙄

3 hours is a dream, had an 26hr wait for a knee infectection. Couldnt walk and was in a lot of pain, gave me paracetomol at the 18hr mark 🙃
