@olibrandoncoaching: If you have always been told that the best way to lose fat is by doing loads of cardio… That is not the best way to approach fat loss, in my opinion. If anything, doing loads of cardio at the beginning of a fat loss journey can make the process harder, because you probably don’t enjoy it, it can easily become unsustainable and then you give up all together. A better place to focus on in the beginning of a fat loss journey would be with a simple activity like walking. It’s why you always hear coaches telling you to up your step count - because walking is an easy, low impact activity that we can do each day and you don’t feel fucked afterwards, compared to doing intense cardio. Obviously cardio is great for heart health, and it can contribute to creating a calorie deficit. But it shouldn’t be the sole driver of your fat loss It would be better, in my opinion, to focus on creating a calorie deficit through controlling your calorie intake and increasing your activity through your daily step count. This can be a more sustainable approach to begin with, that you can actually stick to and get results at the same time. And then when you feel ready you can start to add in extra activities or cardio
