a large portion of Tudor portraits are imagery and not actual portrait anyway. A lot of symbolic items were made to seem as though part of fabric, or background, but actually we're not there.

Okay, but elizabeth is the extreme end of Tudorism. You can’t say that this is therefore all throughout all the Tudor period. It’s just one facit of Elizabethan jewelry. Get your facts right, especially if you want to call yourself a historian.
