I know how to do PEMDAS but as someone who recently graduated college. When you take algebra they teach you that if it’s in front of the parentheses that means it’s apart of it. Hence the answer 5

100/4(2+3)=100/4(5)=100/20=5 was taught the PARENTHESIS doesn’t go away when you do what’s inside, which means you still have to solve the parentheses. Was how I was taught.

I’m convinced math changed. I was taught PEMDAS in order. The answer is 5. I went back to my old Algebra text book from 9th grade and checked the back of the book. My answer is correct.

Doing an algebraic check will prove that the answer is 5. Try doing the same equation but replacing a number with x. Ex: 100÷4(x+3)=5

I m using PEMDAS 100:4(2+3) -the () meaning x so 100:4x5 now that both are at the “same level” we can start from the front 100:4= 25, 25x5 =125. The answear is 125!

Taught using Saxon Math. the answer is 5. You're using PEMDAS wrong... the parentheses are touching the 4. 4(5) is what you have to solve before moving to the next step. 100÷20=5
