People who struggle to read I highly recommend comic books I’d never read a book before leaving school Iv now read over 200 comics and a handful of normal books.

Schools don’t care even with a diagnosis that cost me £500.No additional or specialist help.my child is 13 and can hardly read or write.No idea how he’s meant to sit any exams.

Yup. I was kept back a grade because of it. In 2000 I was diagnosed with specific learning disability in reading (later dyslexia) and adhd. Which is uncommon to be diagnosed as a girl then. Now an R.D

I’ve tried to be tested as an adult and have been told it costs 100s of pounds and I can’t afford to pay that. Which is frustrating as it affects my personal and work life.

I'm 28 and I still remember punished for not remembering an Acronym. I was told I didn't try hard enough or pay attention. My teachers would ask why is it taking you so long to copy this work.

I was called dumb n stupid by teachers for years cos I wasn't a troubled kid I got put 2 the side. I demanded a test in college at 18 years old finally got diagnosed.

I was 11yrs old when I was diagnosed with Dyslexia in 1980’s it wasn’t believed. I don’t think people understand it’s genetic & they think it’s a disability really. My IQ test says 59-for reading

join the club I couldn't read or write till I was 12, then taken out of Maths lessons the first year of secondary school to learn to read and write..
