People who struggle to read I highly recommend comic books I’d never read a book before leaving school Iv now read over 200 comics and a handful of normal books.

I was set out of school 3 days a week for days out and never had support.so instead of giving me extra help I was sent out to go walking or rock climbing and could not tell the time till I was 18

Yup. I was kept back a grade because of it. In 2000 I was diagnosed with specific learning disability in reading (later dyslexia) and adhd. Which is uncommon to be diagnosed as a girl then. Now an R.D

got into reading late in the game due to this. I'm still pretty bad at spelling and will look up how to spell things if spellcheck can't figure it out. but I read like crazy even if its slower!

I'm 28 and I still remember punished for not remembering an Acronym. I was told I didn't try hard enough or pay attention. My teachers would ask why is it taking you so long to copy this work.

I was 11yrs old when I was diagnosed with Dyslexia in 1980’s it wasn’t believed. I don’t think people understand it’s genetic & they think it’s a disability really. My IQ test says 59-for reading
