@drjoe_md: A persistent Moro reflex in a young child can indicate underlying neurological or developmental issues, which may contribute to heightened sensitivity to stimuli and, in turn, lead to increased anxiety. This reflex, normally outgrown by 6 months, suggests an immature or atypical nervous system, potentially causing frequent startle responses that can exacerbate anxiety in certain situations. Further evaluation is essential to address any underlying conditions that might be influencing both the reflex and associated anxiety. #anxiety #pediatrics #MomsofTikTok #doctor #health

I had this reflex, amongst other primitive reflexes, reappear after a concussion. Vision therapy helped re-integrate. I still startle more easily than before the TBI.
