@niky.mamamd: Choking is largely preventable and young children are at HIGHEST risk of choking. Work on eating these foods safely at home but DO NOT take these risks by sending high risk choking foods to school where your child is not being watched closely during lunch and snack time. It is not worth it, trust me on this one. #back2school #schoollunch #schoolsnacks #schoollunchideas #toddlerlunch #childsafety

I slice everything into flat pieces, but not coins! It amazes my husband that I can cut a single baby carrot into about 12 pieces. 🤣 probably faster just to get pre-shredded carrots

My grandma cut our grapes in half until we were 14+ years old. She probably still would to this day if given the opportunity

The only food my toddler has ever choked on was grapes, and that was when they were cut up into quarters or even eighths! So scary

Also at school lunch time, they’re excited, talking and not eating/chewing as they do when at home, in a familiar environment.

I'm a fully grown adult and I do not put whole grapes in my mouth. I also slice my hotdogs. I live alone and am terrified of choking!

How about a list of things you wouldn’t send that doesn’t have anything to do with choking?

I don’t even send my teenagers or my partner to school/ work with grapes in their lunch boxes. I think it would be more embarrassing for them to quartered lol
