They don't offer Apple Pay or tap to pay cause Walmart wanted to store all customers banking information, you know "for their records" and Apple said Nope!

they have tap to pay kinda, you gotta scan the barcode and have the walmart app with your card added to wallet!

they don't do tap to pay to encourage you to get Walmart plus bc with that you can scan and pay on the app

It works on all of the newer packaging from Great Value. They have a hidden barcode in the picture of the food so it will only work if you are scanning the image on the front

So there are barcode watermarks on some items, typically private label stuff (like great value) but it’s definitely not on ALL items.

It’s because people steal so much of the greatvalue branded stuff. I figured it out when I worked in OGP to scan my stuff faster
