@farhanbinrafee: Music is Haram. Do not become desensitised to it! Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisee [rahimahullaah] said: If you want to know the truth, then look into the Qur’aan and see whether the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] and his companions did any of that. Then look into the statements of those who followed the companions in righteousness and their followers and the jurists of the Ummah, such as Imaam Maalik, Imaam Abu Haneefah, Imaam Shaafi’ee and Imaam Ahmad, because all of them spoke ill of Music. Imaam Maalik was asked about Music, he said: “It is what the sinners do.” First evidence against Music, is in the Quran: Allah ‎ﷻ says in surat Luqman، verse 6: “And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead others from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.” “Amusement of speech” many of the Sahaba, like Ibn Masud radiAllahu Anhu said that it was Music. Ibn Masud RadiAllahuAnhu said: “By Allah besides whom there is none worthy of worship, it refers to singing.” And he repeated it three times. And the same was reported from Ibn ‘Umar. There is a hadith in Sahih Al Bukhari (5590): where the Prophet ‎ﷺ says: “There will be a people at the end of time who will make permissible fornication, silk (for men), wine and musical instruments ―Allah will cause the earth to swallow them up.” Over here, clearly it is put with things that are haram, like zina and wearing silk for men.
