Wanted to share these sentiments from my tiddas @Phoebe [-o-] & @soju gang on IG 🖤💛❤️ They have articulated some of the feelings I and many other mob have been feeling lately. I haven't had the capacity to feel and properly take in everything that has happened in the last 6 months to a year but I have still felt the shift. Both in real life and online there has been a rise in white supr3macy and anti-Indigenous rhetoric since the referendum and it genuinely feels like this society has taken steps backwards and away from progressing. Communities here and overseas have pointed out for the past few years since the BLM boom in 2020 that support for black communities has slowly been depleting since then but the referendum has definitely accelerated these sentiments here. Like my tiddas have said above, we HAVE come so far, but we have so much more to go. We shouldn't have to be grateful for crumbs when our children are still getting taken away and our people are still dying. We deserve better, we deserve adequate reparations for everything our people have been through AS WELL as support for our futures. There is no room for regression in 2024, we need that 2020 energy back and to stay for good ‼️ Sending love to all my peoples, navigating this past year has been rough and yet we are still here, still fighting for our people and our future. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ #Aboriginal #SorryDay #AboriginalTiktok #IndigenousTikTok #Indigenous #ReconciliationWeek #AboriginalEducation #AboriginalAndProud #Allies #Allyship #BLM #BlackLivesMatter
