A new sourdough starter typically thrives at a temperature range of 25-28C. I used the Brod & Tayloe Sourdough Home to create the ideal proofing temp of 25C throughout the process for consistency. Things you need : - Flour: All-purpose or bread flour - Clean Drinking Water - Yogurt: Unflavored and unsweetened - Raw Honey: helps to speed up the fermentation process. Method Day 1 -Mix 2 Tbsp yogurt, 2 tbsp flour and 2 tbsp water and 1 Tbsp raw honey. -Stir thoroughly, place the lid loosely on top and store at 25-28C for 24 hours I use the Brod & Taylor Sourdough Home to keep the temp at 25C Day 2-4 -Remove the jar lid and stir the starter twice a day and allow it to breathe for a min -Place the lid loosely on top and store the starter at 25-28C I use the Brod & Taylor Sourdough Home to keep the temp at 25C Day 4-5 -Starter has doubled. -Transfer 2 Tbsp of starter to a new jar and refresh with equal parts flour and water.
