@neilpatel: I'll never have millions of followers on social media. Sure, I have over a million followers on YouTube and over a million on Facebook, but I'll never have anything like a Tony Robbins, Gary Vee, or even a Kardashian. Why? Because my content isn't applicable to a wide audience. I could expand my content to be more generic... and I've done it in the past. I get substantially more likes, comments, and shares and even see faster follower growth when I create content around things like what I learned from flying first class for a whole year. But there is one issue: when I go too broad with my content, it doesn't drive revenue. So, I choose to focus on my content around marketing, and every once in a while, I talk about business. I choose not to participate in broad topics like politics, region, or anything applicable to everyone. If you want tons of followers, focus on creating content that appeals to the masses. If you want your content to generate revenue, focus on your vertical, even if it doesn't create as many followers.

Good point! Focus in order to drive revenue. Niche down especially when you’re a new creator.
