@dadahinspections: Knob and tube (K&T) wiring is an older electrical wiring method used primarily in homes built between the 1880s and the 1940s. While it was considered state-of-the-art at the time, it presents several issues today, here’s just 3: 1. Lack of Grounding: K&T wiring lacks a grounding wire, which is standard in modern electrical systems. Without grounding, there's an increased risk of electric shock and fire, especially when using modern electrical appliances that require grounding for safety. 2. Limited Capacity: K&T wiring was designed for lower power consumption typical of the early 20th century. Modern households with many electrical appliances may overload K&T wiring, increasing the risk of overheating and fire. 3. Fire Hazards: The combination of aging components, lack of grounding, and potential for overloading circuits makes K&T wiring a significant fire hazard in modern homes. #KnobAndTube #homeinspection #homeinspector #electricalsafety #OldHouseIssues #electricalsafety #homesafetytips #albanyhomeinspection

I had knob and tube in my last house. It was just on circuit and buried to the second floor. So I sold it and bought a newer house 😎👍
