Same in Bulgarian elementary school. I don’t think we were actually taught how to write in print letters, but cursive was a must. They even graded our writing on how good it looked.

We were taught cursive for about half a year in the 1st grade in my school then they just stopped teaching it- I so wish I could’ve done it for years and really learned

I’m Ukrainian and I remember those special books that we got starting from 1st grade or maybe even before with different words and letters over and over 😭 ik how to write in English cursive now too

in Turkey we used to learn cursive in elemantary school and it turns into normal letters in middle school. but its not that hard since its latin.
