my dogs the basic trained will listen in public and isn't reactive I only struggle with her being alone she doesn't destroy things just crys and screams sns eats herself

Not everyone sees a dog the same way you do. Some see dogs as field defenders. others see them as working dogs. Some dogs are just companions to live their life not service another. My dog is him.

I put a lot of work into making an untrained shelter dog stable & well behaved in public (for the most part, some days he’s just not in the mood). I did not “get lucky” with a good dog I worked hard

We put our poodle through 2 years of training. The trainers worked with her, “oh she knows what to do, she just doesn’t want too.”

I took howie to the vet today and the staff was so incredibly impressed by his lack of stress in that environment. We do cooperative care so he chills and does what he needs to do

no really, i would consider my older dog to be mostly trained but not great since she can be a bit stubborn. but compared to the dogs ive met at work she could be in crufts tomorrow
