I was the opposite. I had it but didn’t want it. I wasn’t allowed to cut my hair and absolutely hated having to take care of it. I finally went on strike and was allowed to cut it when I was about 13.

for years I brushed my oldest daughters hair. I was a single mom who was newly in a wheelchair I found it to be a joyful moment to together that made up for the things I wasn't able to do. but now as she is getting oldest I have stopped brushing her hair so now it doesn't get brushed. I don't know what to do? do you have any advice

I struggled with hair brushing too. What fixed me was every time my grandma would come over, she’d say that it looked like I brushed it with a rake. I hate that she said it so I would brush it.

I’ve loved my long hair since I was in like 2nd/3rd grade, I used to say I wanted rapunzel hair and that’s literally what got me into the habit of taking care of it, Im 26 now and it still works ❤️

I have rapunzel hair (28 of my 60”) I only brush it in the shower with a Wet brush. Braid it at night to keep it less tangled. Also embrace the Merida hair in between washes/brushes.

my mom was famously bad at teaching me ANY "girl skills", so it definitely could be that, but I now have better luck with a comb than a brush at getting the knots out underneath the hair

Wet brush and the not your mothers all in one hair perfector really help with tangles. My hair is to my butt and always has been. Also get it trimmed every six months.
