NTA. The husband could have developed OCD related to the trauma which would explain his inability to resist the compulsion but doesn’t excuse it one bit

I think the husband needs intense counseling if he requires coping mechanisms in every day life. I think the push should be full time counseling

If he has a trauma he has to work on it with a therapist the wife can help him but she's not responsible for the healing process he is he should be working on that
