I’m not an expert but looks like it could be the ”lead” reindeer the herders castrate before puberty so they stay more tame and can make the others more comfortable with the herders/people :)

In Ireland years ago they believed in reincarnation to a robin . In Finland the Sami believe they reincarnate to a reindeer.
