@trickspaniel: The worst tick I’ve ever had to deal with!! We do use a preventative treatment, however the ticks still bite before they ingest the stuff, die and fall off! Our area has been declared high risk for Lyme disease so as soon as I spot a tick I’m removing it - the less time it’s attached the lower the risk! For things to do with his face his preference is definitely to use his bar - it’s much easier for him to let go to communicate he’s uncomfortable than doing a chin target, which I think he is more reluctant to break because the weight of his head is on the chair or whatever we’re using for him to target! It’s not until I ask him to do it again and he’s a bit reluctant that I actually realise he was slightly uncomfortable with it the first time. I was really pleased that he instantly offered to bite the bar again after I took the tick off - he’s so much more resilient these days!
