As a frequent flyer who books the window, if I can tell it’s a first timer next to me or this is a vacation for them I always roll up the blind. They will usually ask if they can lean in for a pic

I had a middle seat reach over me, open my window and start taking pics while I was sound asleep. The accidental “surprise” elbow reaction was a total accident. My window!!!🤣

Just ask “first time flying?” If they say no, then just act confused and say “oh, I would have thought it was the way you are in my seat’s space for a photo.” If yes, then it’s a bit more forgivable.

On a flight to see the aurora lights the middle and aisle seats started handed me phones and cameras to take pics for them cause I had the window 😂

I always choose a window seat, if someone is sat the other side of me and wants to get some photos or video I'd just let them 🤷🏻♀️what's wrong with letting them have a look too! Maybe all the window seats were gone 🙄you'll be expecting them to jump up out of their seat if you need to use the toilet!
