But, based on our perception now, Amitabha Pure Land doesn’t exist. Buddha said, all phenomena is emptiness, but not nothing. Right now, our perception is that of the human realm and therefore has limitations. Based on this perception, no matter how hard you try or what instrument you use, you won’t find it. Why? Because we are limited by our perception. Actually, Amitabha Pure Land is also emptiness, just manifestation of our mind, just like this earth. Like this glass of juice, is it real or not? Not real, but not nothing - it is emptiness. All depends on our perception. If we create the causes and conditions for the perception of Amitabha Pure Land to be possible, it will be here immediately. So, what is the real address of Amitabha Pure Land? In the mind, here! However, you cannot see it, until the current perception dissolves. You can only see it during the bardo of death and dying. For us to perceive the Pure Land, we need to create the causes and conditions. It’s like confirming the address of the Pure Land and book the right location for us to be reborn in it. The address of Pure Land has the following four lines: 1. Focus and attention towards Amitabha Pure Land. It is aspiration, like “volition” in the five aggregates. It is a strong wish and motivation and it’s very powerful. With this strong motivation, everything would gather around it. Here, we refer this motivation to taking refuge to Amitabha and the Pure Land. 2. Loving Kindness and Compassion. The altruistic intention & Bodhicitta. You go to Amitabha Pure Land for helping beings, not just of this realm, but all realms. Of course, once you achieved enlightenment, you can help even more beings to be enlightened. 3. Accumulation of Merits & Wisdom: all virtuous deeds and Shamatha meditation are accumulating merits. To accumulate wisdom, we need to practice Emptiness Vipassana meditation. 4. Dedication - after accumulating merits and wisdom, we need to dedicate them to all beings: may they all be enlightened or reborn in Amitabha Pure Land and fully recognize their True Nature.
