Yes, my mom never let me do those things but then turn around and compare me to other kids..look at Sue doing this and that and being dotted on..but it was too burdensome if I asked

My kids begged to play sports. Ex-husb. wouldn't let me sign them up b/c he'd have had to take them. My mom now helps me get my kids to sports and they love it and I love watching them play and grow.

I feel it’s pretty common for a child to come to that conclusion themselves, sometime in their youth. A parent to actually speak it into existence because they couldn’t process their emotions

Only 1 of my kids plays sports, soccer & I always made a big deal of supporting him. Brought chairs, drinks, made shirts & earrings. It can be exhausting but I love it
