I am so glad my kids school insists no lining up for pickup until 5 minutes after official dismissal. walkers get out first, then bus riders. 2 hours of idling cars is WILD.

ohh! they're doing this to a lot of intersections in my neighborhood and I was really confused as to why. it's great because I cross those streets 4x a day to get to the train stop, park, store, etc

6/7 is pretty decent but I have to ask: Why does the charter school person even have a say here? Couldn't you go over their head for the sake of child safety? Or speak with a parent group? Literally bought a house with walkability to school in mind. My daughter is 1 but one day I’ll walk her to kindergarten, and one day she’ll walk herself. Nothing better than getting places w/o a car!

That is so bizarre. Some schools in my areas have pick up lines, but it’s a short, a relatively small line and most kids walk home.
