Not sure if you’ve tried before but I’d suggest using an alcohol based remover to get the tapes out it doesn’t leave your hair as sticky!

I do my own extensions too. But to get them out I use sticky stuff remover but the aerosol one. Honestly, they’ll be out in 10 mins, no residue left in your hair. No damage just smelly 😂

Love tapes… they changed my life. I have baby fine this hair that is frizzy and now can wear a super blunt short bob and not wash every day.
