I say professional still make sure clean the rubber seals around piston to avoid it getting damaged by fine stone chips.

Professional mechanic would clean the caliper pin and drill with a bore brush nice and clean and new rubber boots. Also new rotor.

How deep was that grove at the top of the rotor? And did you check the specs on the rotor before and or after you machined it?

Never put lubricant on guide pins. It attract more dust/durt. Only clean them.
