She’s literally not wrong at all. I work in the produce industry. It’s not always effective bc I’ve successfully grown produce from squashed tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins and melons that have gone bad at work. One few out of the crack from the loading dock and I took it home and got romas from it all year last summer. but the produce on store shelves is usually made so that the seeds wont germinate bc no the farmers who are in bed with big corporations don’t want you to be able to grow your own food cuz that means less money in their own pockets if we all became self sufficient. I encourage everyone to garden. It’s a valuable skill, it’s rewarding it’s therapeutic and it’s also kinda a bit of a middle finger to corporations. Tonight my meal consists of homegrown steamed carrots with oil garlic and vinegar, mixes with some fresh arugula and rashish leaves I got after picking some radishes. I already ate the radishes earlier so they’re gone but I’ll have more in a few days. Also garnished my pasta with homegrown lemon basil and some FAT homegrown green onions. Things are thicker than my entire thumb. The taste fresh from a garden is unbeatable. It’s for so much more flavor and it makes u feel good bc you’re eating and remember, I grew this myself!
