We can’t teach the full idea to kids who don’t even know what a chromosome is or what it does yet. Everything is oversimplified, it’s the only way to introduce general topics to young kids.

even the same spieces can have varying chromosomes depending on population, like river and swamp water buffalo is an example, having 50 and 48 chromosomes respectively. nature doesn't care about our-

can you talk about how we literally have human/toilet hybrids? (viz Skibidi Toilet)

Once you look at Garr it changes your understanding they’re prehistoric creatures! Like They were frozen in Time

It’s my understanding that there’s not really a single definition of ‘Species’ that is true in any context. This is a great demonstration of the fluidity of evolution/life/speciation

didn't we decide to categorize the world into species, etc, when we knew basically nothing about biology and were unaware of chromosomes?

Also education has not kept up with science. I recall being told when I was in Uni it was impossible for Neanderthal/homo sapiens to cross breed. We now know better but people who didn’t follow the scientific updates still believe the old standards.

With insects the ability to have intercourse changes with time. So genetically they may still may be able to breed but physically cannot. Biology is nuance!

Hey. I'm from South Africa but I've never heard anything about dinosaur fossils from my country . So can you be 1st person to talk about them. @Zeke Darwin

My question is why can most other animals breed so closely together without issues but humans can’t?

Yes. Exactly. Science is messy. One misconception that I see repeated frequently is the distinction between a population vs an individual. Population genetics is a whole field of study.

As you've talked about a lot, we ourselves are the result of at least two interspecies reproduction events, whose offspring were clearly fertile.
