I love FF14 and the story I've played but I don't love it enough to mandatorily play 500+ hours of story to be in current content. that's what WoW gets right.

yeah, they do encourage you in doing MSQ but then they are same people who are angry that there are players who can't even understand their own class coz people are scared to tell others what to do.

have to strongly disagree here, not everyone goes into an mmo for the story. I went into ffxiv for a challenge (end game content like wow mythic etc) and instead was forced into an endless grind

As someone who's 300 hours into ff14 and just started Shadowbringers, I'm still not sure if I'm having fun. I feel like 60% of the MSQ could be cut without impacting the story at all...
