@ladyspinedoc: Nothing like getting this call at 3am - an adrenaline rush like no other… For neurosurgeons who take trauma calls, 24-hour availability and readiness are critical. Due to the scarcity of physicians in our speciality, we often take call many times per week or many days in a row. Not every trauma center has neurosurgery residents, and mine does not. So either the surgeon on call or their APP may fulfill this requirement. But if the patient’s life is on the line, we need to be there even faster. #neurosurgery #trauma #oncall
