If you claim PIP it can also opens the door for pension credit. We only found this out in the last year of Mum’s life

word of warning! don't underestimate your savings & make sure you declare it! my dear mum passed away last year and 18 months later the DWP are checking that she didn't receive too much pension credit

I have a state pension and a works pension. After paying £100 monthly in tax, it puts me about a fiver over the limit. Worked all my life, and because I'm not on benefits get nothing. Lesson learnt.

I dont agree with this, a single person 25+ on UC gets 395 per month. But yet PC only tops upto 218 and that counts your income from state and private pension, it should be the same.

the 218.13p/332 is the total person/couple will get topped up too with pension credit (unless element get added for disability) so theory the new state pension is more a year.

The threshold for credits is far too low. It should be about £15k a year (£288pw). I get £253 pw as I have a small NHS pension and qualify for nothing, life is one big struggle!

My friend was recently contacted by Student Finance, she overpaid whilst on maternity and was given a refund. They now have to make people aware but anyone prior to this they do not have to contact.

Please check if you get attendance allowance or pip as this can affect your eligibility and is deducted off your applicable amount, which is what the gov say you can live on per week.
