German engines need premium fuel for best performance. Regular fuel won’t cause immediate harm, but it can reduce power and cause engine wear over time. High performance=higher octane

as a Mechanic from Germany i can say that there will be long term issues with ur engine if you put that 89 octane gas in your car. at least once in a quarter year put that 95 octane gas in to clean...

Stick to premium. The dollars you’d save will end up going into repairs. But for sure read the manual. It will tell you.

Premium is what is recommended for high performance German rides. Higher octane will help maximize the rides overall performance. You could use regular. But overall performance will be compromised

Let’s make it simple. If you lease it, regular gas is fine, if you own or finance it, use PREMIUM. :)

well I can tell you that German Regular (95) is equivalent to US Premium 91, So the Dealer is right. With lower Rating there comes lower efficiency and higher engine wear in the long term.
