So I’ve been contemplating on applying the past few weeks bc i didn’t get accepted last year and got a little discouraged. but since applications close tomorrow, i couldn’t bare the thought of not even trying. For those of you who don’t know me, HI! My name is Katerin, a first-generation Latina who immigrated to the U.S. at only 8 years old. I started my beauty creation journey during a tough time in high school after a heartbreak. YT became my escape, and I found myself drawn to beauty tutorials. I’ve always liked makeup, but watching beauty creators really sparked something in me. As I practiced more, I realized I wanted to inspire others the same way those creators inspired me. For me, it’s all about building a genuine community where everyone feels welcome and not only be comfortable, but also feel confident with themselves. I want to join the Sephora Squad to connect with a community of beauty enthusiasts and work with a brand I admire. This opportunity would help me gain insights and skills to create impactful content and grow professionally. Being on SQ would help amplify my story and connect me with others who share similar experiences. I want to be the voice for immigrants who think they don’t have a “spot” in this community.
