In the song Pac details his childhood poverty and his mother's addiction to crack cocaine, but argues that his love and deep respect for his mother supersede the bad memories. This became an anthem for everyone who loves their mother and an introspective moment for those who had/have gripes against their mothers because they were in a similar position as Pac.
