One of the Craziest Weeks of My Life👍 It's been a long journey through medical school, but I am so happy I chose a career that promises a lifetime of learning. This week, I took the final step towards residency, and I feel a mix of relief, stress, and gratitude. I'm excited for the steps ahead and know in my heart that I will have a meaningful impact as a physician, helping patients live healthier lives. In addition to that, I launched my cookbook—a project I've been working on for over 3 ½ years. Throughout medical school, I became certified as a culinary medicine specialist and nutritionist, spending countless sleepless nights researching the effects of nutrition on health conditions. I am a passionate nutrition advocate and believe nutrition education is one of the most important health care gaps that we need to address in this country. One of my deepest passions is combating the obesity crisis in the U.S., where two-thirds of adults and one-third of children are overweight or obese. This excess weight is closely linked to chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, back pain, and cardiovascular disease, conditions I see regularly in the clinic. These strong connections between diet and chronic illness are what drew me to family medicine, as it allows me to treat these conditions holistically and empower patients to make lasting changes through better nutrition. The relationship between nutrition and health is what inspired me to create this cookbook. My goal is to empower you to make better food choices while saving time and money with simple, macro-friendly recipes. I want to help people build lifelong healthy habits through delicious, nutritious meals. My cookbook launches tomorrow, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. I hope it inspires healthier choices and empowers you to take control of your health through the power of food.
