Counseling helps. Sounds like the whole family has trauma to deal with. Good luck secret momma. You’re obviously strong. Getting help from a counselor is liberating.

This sounds like co-dependence and YES you become emotionally, spiritually and mentally exhausted from that. Either begin counseling or go to AL Anon. It's free.

I understand. Get a therapist. Just having a safe place to talk is important. I have 2 stepsons with serious mental illness. They were young when we married & illness came on in teen years.
