was on a flight, they called for a dr x3. Nobody got up, I was a RN in Emerg, I finally stood up to help and someone behind me announced "I am a dr" he asked me to stay because he was a chiropractor

This is so misleading about derms and we all know they are some of the smartest doctors around. Great for you for doing EM!! There are lots of pros and cons to EM and for many the cons outweigh

Never ask if there’s a dr somewhere always ask if there’s an emt or paramedic we deal with on scene out of hospital situations and can help more

I wish docs would highlight the strengths of these specialists instead of leading the public to inaccurately believe derm docs are completely incompetent. I saw something similar about OB during an emergency which was a grossly inaccurate portrayal of their training.

Funny thing is, dermatologists in Nigeria have almost same training as all internal medicine doctors, and handle all cases. At least, in the center where I trained.
