I see no point in tracking it. If you're a candidate they want, they'll get back to you in a reasonable amount of time.

The reason I don’t worry about the job posting going away is because the first call is almost always a screening call with a recruiter, and I just ask them for a copy of the job description

It also is helpful to be able to share that some places took 4 months from application to offer and this place took 6! Months! From interview to offer

At least two reasons to track: 1) so you don’t apply again; 2) unemployment requires you to track where you apply
