There's a bigger overriding issue here. It's called FULL DISCLOSURE. For over 60 years, the flavoring industry has been able to hide everything about the identity of their product, which 99% of us consume, behind a "trade secret" claim. And the FDA literally suggests it to this industry. This policy may have been fairly harmless in the 1960s when it was implemented, but in this day and age when the number of GRAS flavors has exploded to over 2,800 and permeate the food industry, we have a right to know just where their creativity has led them. We want to know what's going in our mouths so WE can decide what's safe, thank you very much.
