For me this doesn’t make sense coz I e been wondering why is it not the same instalment, isn’t that with a balloon the borrowing you 140K for 71months? The 60 is payable on month 72?

The deposit reduces the money borrowed from the bank, meaning less interest. If you pay 60k deposit it means you've borrowed less hence the reduced payments but with the Ballon you are deferring

is not affordability, it is the time value of money or inflation. remember R40k today might worth R30k in the next 6 years so they make you pay the R10k as interests
