Why is this so hard?! I have a 3yr old, 1 1/2yr and another in the way. I’m prior military w/ 3 tours to Afghanistan. How am I more scared of sending kids to school than being in Afghanistan?!

Sad that last year my youngest of 3 graduated, that night after graduation I looked to my husband and said we made it through 3 boys with no shootings in their schools.1st thought.Instead of happiness

My 6yo told me yesterday he’s sad his brother doesn’t go to school w him anymore. My 1st thought was I’m grateful they are in diff schools bc it decreases the chance of losing both.

I’m from the Netherlands where we have strict gun laws (yes you can still own one) and no security guards at schools, no shooter drills either. Not needed. And we’re not the only country that gets it

I teach. I get it. The fear. And now we are getting emails saying we teachers need to make sure doors are always locked and to be vigilant. 😭 I know. I know I’m the front line in my room.

my youngest daughter is in her senior year, and I used to think it'd be sad when all my kids grow up and finished school...now I'm so ready to get this last one thru so I don't fear for her everyday

I live on a military base,but still every morning I drop my kid off,I yell “I LOVE YOU!” 4 times and I worry a lot. It’s crazy and school just started in most states. You’re right with your words 💜

As a mom and teacher I kiss and hug my child when I drop him off at daycare and say I love you several times because idk if that day will be the day I don’t go home to him

My oldest just entered jr high. I work at the elementary school my middle child attends. I hold my breath every day and think of every scenario possible while at work. It’s unhealthy. I feel helpless

As a teacher, I arrange my room to figure out the best hiding spots and furniture to barricade if needed. Think about this every day. 😔
