It’s popular because they’re cheap to grow, and landscapers and home builders don’t want to invest more in a better choice.

They’re invasive. My house came with one. Every damned year I have to pull seedlings from all over the property. My home owners insurance doesn’t want any more trees on my property 😏🤨😖
