As a seamstress in a high end department store, I also recommend going up a size/ fitting to your larger measurement. It is always easier to take in then let out. I also ask questions about the 1/2

I'm a professional seamstress and I do a lot of alterations to suits. The key thing to check n a jacket is the fit across the shoulders and the top of the sleeves. Sleeves are easily shortened

Mine was just a bit hit and miss, the sizing is thankfully just body measurements but the first few suits I bought are a much looser fit because the fit needs to be one category tighter than the /1
