They are modeling the very behavior in their own homes that they are warning against. This contradiction, alone, raises questions about the credibility and helpfulness of their advocacy. While they may cite some research to support their claims, it's important to note that much of the published research lacks nuance and fails to consider variables such as family backgrounds, learning differences in children, context, content, and the quality of screen time. 📌Using a tablet for educational content that teaches and provides exposure to various skills can offer excellent learning opportunities. And even passive consumption of non-educational videos can turn into learning moments if parents choose to 👉🏻engage with👈🏻 the child during viewing. Sending your child out to play alone isn’t necessarily better; the key is playing outside 👉🏻with 👈🏻your child.
