You need to have your panel checked. A short like that should trip the breaker. The fact it didn't indicates a problem

your wires became loose and probably crossed, id retire that lamp b4 it causes a big problem, should be repairable if you know what your doing

Yo - the breaker never tripped. That lamp will have a live wire in it and your breakers are faulty. That should have tripped in 1/100th of the time. It only stopped because the wires that were touchin

I have the same lamp and it does this. Mine just flickers it doesn’t matter how many times I take it apart retighten it, it comes undone n flickers.
