I was doing an evil run and pushed him in myself, and the goblins got mad and attacked me, which makes no sense but 🤷🏻

I use Shadowheart's command: approach on Smythin, which can be a little buggy as the goblins sometimes try to follow him and shove him anyway, but I usually get away with it and get his dialogue

I messed around so much within the goblin camp, and for some reason the goblins never shoved him into the pit. I even waited for them to do so, bc I knew they would right away but

Apparently he decided to roll a saving throw from getting pushed and passed. And that’s how I “saved” him lol

i once was in a fight before his death and he survived with disengage. but second upon enetering the spider pit (by walking not jumping in) he just died

You need to cast see invisibility beforehand. (Or get your eye plucked out by the bard...) Run in and touch Smithin while casting invisibility. That's it.
